1. Will engaging in training with free weights or an aerobic exercise program cause pain?
The old adage "No Pain, No Gain" IS A FALLACY. Pain IS NOT a part of a healthy exercise program. That being said, as with any new physical activity, your body will go through an adjustment period. You will experience some soreness, but again it SHOULD NOT be excessive or debilitating. However, the human body adapts quickly and within a few weeks your body will be accustomed to the new workload.
2. I can't afford to start an exercise program. What can I do?
Can you afford not to? Compared to most activities people engage in, the costs are minimal. Most people spend more than $400.00 per month dining out. That's $4,800.00 a year! In addition, most people take better care of their depreciating vehicle than their own bodies. So, make it a priority and make a commitment to take care of the only body you will ever own.
3. I feel that I'm too out of shape and I don't want to be on display at a gym. What can I do?
In reality, you are on display everywhere you go: the grocery store, restaurants, in your car, at the shopping malls, etc... You will be surprised how supportive most gyms and exercise facilities are. If you prefer a private environment, I provide training at my
private facility. So either way, muster up some courage, and make a commitment to
living a healthier
life.
4. I don't have the time. What can I do?
Find the time. Prioritize and get motivated. It may just save your life, or at the very least enhance your well-being and give you a better quality of life. Anything in this life worth doing requires time and effort. Cancel your cable TV service. Most people spend more money and more time on cable service than they do engaging in an exercise program.
